A Hidden Agenda?

'A hidden agenda' was originally a post on this blog, critical of the Lord Mayor's position on the future of the fig trees in Laman Street.

He changed his position, and proved himself to be a true statesman.

Long live the Lord Mayor.

Scott.

  1. This is my email to Jodi McKay MP,

    Dear Ms. MacKay,
I believe that planning minister, Tony Kelly, currently has an opportunity to intervene in Newcastle City Council's axing of the Laman Street fig trees.
If you have an opportunity to consult with Mr. Kelly, I would urge you to encourage him to intervene with his relevant powers.
I firmly believe that the Lord Mayor, John Tate, and his wife, as being the principal supporters of the Newcastle Region Art Gallery, have a CLEAR CONFLICT OF INTEREST in this matter. The Lord Mayor's casting vote was the green light for the axing of the trees.
The Lord Mayor wants to redevelop this precinct, especially the NRAG and the trees are simply in the way of his grand vision. For this reason, amongst many other reasons I am sure you are already aware, the planning minister should intervene immediately.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Scott Cooper-Johnston
